Waterloo Recreation Area is truly an outdoor enthusiast’s haven. With 20,000 acres of land, Waterloo Recreation Area is the largest state park in Michigan’s lower peninsula. It includes diverse camping options, 11 inland lakes, and multiple systems.
On my visit, I decided to explore the extensive Waterloo-Pinckney Trail.
If you’re going to be using the trails for any type of recreation, it is important to understand and respect the unwritten (and written) rules that govern the trail. By learning and practicing these policies, like trail etiquette, you’re not only being a responsible trail user but also respectful to those around you.
It was almost 7 in the morning. I stood on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by 49 other runners. The race director was explaining what to expect on the course. Then, for a brief moment, silence. Ready. Set. Go.
Take a run through Yankee Springs Recreational Area at Trivium Racing’s Winter Trail Fest. Enjoy snow and ice covered trails, pretty scenery and great swag at this fun winter event.
Sleepy Hollow State Park offers over 2,000 acres of forest, fields, and lake. Within that acreage, the park boasts 16 miles of hiking, running, and biking trail. The perfect location for a trail runner to get some decent mileage in.
Woldumar Nature Center is hosting it’s 12th annual Run-A-Munk race on November 3rd, 2019. For the past two years, I’ve signed up and participated in this fantastic event.
