Take a run along the Grand River with the Twilight Run/Walk 5K. This was my 2nd year participating in this race and I can’t wait to run it again.
Celebrating it’s 17th year on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, the Twilight Run begins at Impression 5 Museum in downtown Lansing. It is an out and back course, following the river walk for about 1.5 miles to Potter Park zoo and finishing back at the museum.
The course is well maintained paved surface with some boardwalks. The boardwalks can be slippery when wet, but even after the hard rains we’ve had, I had no issues. There are a few dips but overall, it’s a flat, easy race.
Costing only $15, this is one of the cheapest 5k’s I’ve raced in but it certainly doesn’t forfeit quality. Registration cost does not include t-shirts, but t-shirts are available for an additional price. I really appreciate the choice between a shirt and a cheaper registration.
Like most races, awards are given to the top 3 finishes in each age group, male/female.
Proceeds from the race go to high school and middle school cross country and track programs, and youth running clubs.
