Location: Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is well known for its beautiful shoreline, hidden gems, acres of forest, and roaring waterfalls. Miners Falls is no exception and is one of our favorite waterfalls in the area.

Miners Falls surges over sandstone cliffs, dropping 50 feet to the creek below. Deemed the most powerful waterfall within the park, it is certainly one not to miss. There is no bad time of year to visit this waterfall. In the spring, visitors receive a special experience of waterfall spray, even from the viewing platform.

The hike is fairly easy, a 1.2-mile round trip. Even though it is a dirt path, we have seen people pushing strollers, making this hike great for all age groups. Keep in mind there are 64 stairs leading to the lower viewing platform.
