Waterfalls of Yellowstone: Gibbon Falls

A short paved walk leads you to Gibbon Falls. This waterfall drops 84 feet over the remnants of the Yellowstone caldera rim. Easy to access, it is worth the stop

Visiting Gibbon Falls, like most of Yellowstone’s beautiful scenic attractions, gives us a glimpse into the geological history that is so rich in this park. The caldera rim that is now Gibbon Falls was created by a massive volcanic eruption about 640,000 years ago.
