The infamous Yellowstone Falls is one of the most photographed subjects within the park, second only to Old Faithful Inn. Not only is it an impressive waterfall in itself but the location within the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone makes this waterfall one you don’t want to miss.
Located just east of Canyon Village, Lower Yellowstone Falls is the largest waterfall within the park, falling 308 feet into the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
There are numerous viewpoints for this waterfall from different spots along the Grand Canyon but taking the 3/4 mile (round trip) steep hike to the top of the falls is well worth it. Hikers are rewarded with some of the most breathtaking views within the park.
