Gear Review: Dutchware Cinch Strap Buckles for Hammocks

Finding the perfect suspension system for my Hennesy Hammock has been a journey. I have used everything from the standard knot setup to the beetle buckles. Nothing worked as well as I had hoped. The search continued until this year when I discovered the Dutchware cinch strap buckles.

The cinch buckle system is the easiest way I have experienced hanging my hammock. Simply attach the hammock to a tree using tree webbing and pull the straps to tighten. The ease of these buckles has drastically reduced my overall setup time.

Specs

  • Lightweight (About 63 grams)
  • Attaches with 7/64th Amsteel continuous loop
  • Comes in multiple colors

What I like

Hammock

These buckles are extremely easy to install on the hammock.

They are simple and easy to use.

The strap doesn’t get tangled and twisted while trying to tighten.

In the year I have been using them, I haven’t had a single slip.

What I Don’t Like

While tightening the hammock is easy, I find it harder to release tension to readjust.

Overall

After a year of use, I am impressed with the Dutchware Cinch Buckle system and highly recommend it for anyone with a hammock.
