Delicious Campfire Kebobs

I love making meals for camping that allow everyone to choose their own ingredients. Kebobs are perfect for that very reason. The flexibility of ingredients to the marinades ensures that everyone can have the flavors and food that they enjoy.

Here is one of many recipes that can be used for Kebobs.

What You’ll Need

  • Chicken Breast
  • Bell Pepper
  • Corn on the Cob
  • Onions
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Zucchini
  • Skewers
  • Marinade of Your Choice

What You’ll Do

  1. Cut ingredients into even-sized pieces. I do this step pre-trip for quicker results while camping
  2. Place each piece in a zip top bag of marinate of your choice. (see below for Chili Marinade and Lemon Marinade)
  3. Squeeze bag thoroughly to distribute marinade. Place flat in a cool spot for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Stick ingredients on a skew. Don’t crow them. Cook over fire coals until done.
Place heavy duty foil over the coals to lay the skewers on to avoid holding them the entire time. Turn occasionally for even cooking.

Chili Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Chipotle Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For a spider marinade, add additional chili chipotle powder.

Lemon Marinade

  • 1/2 cup Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
