Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore: Mosquito Falls

Location: Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Mosquito Falls is one of the smaller waterfalls tucked away in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It does not have the impressive height of Sable Falls or power of Miner’s, but it is nonetheless just as beautiful.

Upper Falls

The hike to Mosquito falls is 2.4 miles and is over moderately challenging terrain. Hikers traverse over root covered trails and boardwalks through peaceful forestscape.

Lower Falls

One of our favorite times to go is in early spring when the nights are still cold. Marigold Marshes are in full bloom, lining the creek, and the mosquito populations have yet to appear. When visiting later in the season, be sure to pack some good spray and a bug net.
