An Autumn Cabin Rental at Mill Creek

My mom and I kick off autumn with a cozy cabin rental in one of Michigan’s most iconic cities; Mackinaw City. Mill Creek Campground is located just outside of the city and offers a great outdoor experience for modern campers. From campsites to cabin rentals, they have something for everyone.

Lake Huron

For as long as I can remember, my family has camped at Mill Creek Campground. After one visit it’s easy to see why. The campground is located on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Huron and offers views of the might Mackinac Bridge.

The campground offers cabin rentals on the lake and off the lake. The rentals on the lake are a bit more expensive. The off lake cabins tend to be cheaper and are within a short walking distance of the water.

Our cabin rental

There are a variety of cabin types offered for each location.

Cabin rentals on the lake:

  • Bridgeview cabin with bathrooms
  • Lakeview cabin with bathrooms
  • Loft lakeview cabin with bathrooms

Cabins off the lake:

  • Medium cabin with bathroom (sleep 4)
  • Large cabin with bathroom (sleeps 6)
  • Loft cabin with bathroom (sleeps 6)
  • Basic cabin without bathroom (sleeps 4 to 5)
  • Large cabin without bathroom (sleeps 4 to 6)
  • Icopod no bathroom (sleeps 2)

We rent a basic cabin off the lake and without a bathroom.

Cabin from the past

Each cabin is a little different in layout and sleeping arrangements. This year we stayed in a cabin with a full size bunk bed. Last year, we had a cabin with a single bunk bed and a queen sized bed.

All of the cabins include a mini fridge, microwave, table, heat, and fan. You will need to bring your own bedding. Pets are not allowed in any of the cabins.

During this time of year, the camp store is not open.

If you’re looking for a peaceful get away for an autumn retreat or if you aren’t a fan of camping in a tent, Mill Creek Cabins are a great alternative to the expensive hotels and motels in the city. Get a taste of nature without the requirement of any gear.
