A Great Hike at Lincoln Brick Park

Grand Ledge, Michigan

During Michigan’s Trail Week, I was attempting to hike or run different trail systems every day. This led me to Lincoln Brick Park. Often overshadowed by the neighboring Fitzgerald Park, this small historic place has plenty to offer outdoor enthusiasts.

Lincoln Brick Park was named after the brick production company that once stood here. Ruins from some of the old structures still exist, providing an interesting piece of history.

The park itself is 90 acres and features over 6,000 feet of the scenic Grand River. There are plenty of fantastic views of the river from the Deer Run trail. This was also an excellent area to view wildlife.

In addition to hiking, the park is open to cross country skiing, fishing, and has picnic shelters, a playground, and restrooms.

While the trails are not long in mileage, the trail terrain is varying and rugged. This is not a groomed system. My favorite kind of trail. Rocks and tree roots are frequent. Be sure to watch your footing closing.

There is a daily vehicle fee.

  • Eaton County Residents – $3 per vehicle
  • Non-County Residents – $5 per vehicle

Overall this is a beautiful, quiet trail system. It may not be ideal for longer hikers, but it does provide an opportunity to enjoy scenic views. I will definitely be returning in the future.
