With 3,200 miles of shoreline, it’s no wonder why Michigan claims more lighthouses than any other state in the country. Point Betsie is one of the most unique and arguably the most beautiful of them all.
What better way to spend Mother’s day than with your mom at the 87th Annual Tulip Festival in Holland, Michigan.
Sleepy Hollow State Park is located in Laingsburg, Michigan. It’s a little gold mine for us. Not only have we experienced some pretty amazing sunsets there, but it’s peaceful and out of the city.
Pigeon River State Forest is my favourite place to camp in the Lower Peninsula. It is rustic, has amazing wildlife and offers a variety of activities. It is the largest state forest in Michigan at nearly 100,000 acres. It is the home to the largest elk herd east of the Mississippi. But don’t expect to see elk all over, they are shy and hard to find. On this trip to Pigeon River, we invited a couple of our close friends, Brittany and Mike, to join us and share in our adventure. We had a blast!
See the rugged snow-covered peaks stretching up towards the heavens above. The lake valleys that reflect those mountains and are surrounded with wildflowers in the spring. Imagine the wildlife; elk, bear, moose and wolves. The crisp morning air, fresh and energizing. The Grand Teton Mountain range is exactly that. I haven’t seen many mountains in my life but so far I have yet to find any that are more majestic and magical than these.
I’m not sure if it’s just a Michigan thing but whenever we go anywhere we always look for the best place to see a sunset. And a place with water is where we always look first.
