There’s no denying that Bond Falls is an impressive waterfall but there’s something about visiting it in the winter that makes it even more magical. This 50 foot tall, 160 foot wide cascading falls is located in Paulding and is without a doubt one of the Michigan’s best. We visited it for the first time in July of 2013 and since then have been back a few times. Our winter visits is one of our favourites.
Steve and I decided to kick 2016 off right; waterfalls, hiking and a cabin in the U.P. We took some free time away from work and family for just the two of us – and the beagles, of course. I looked at it as a blessing for the new year and that this will be the year we finally purchase the perfect property for our home.
We have not yet seen all 272 recorded waterfalls in Michigan but we have seen more than most. We never turn down an opportunity to trudge in a river, scale gorge walls or bushwhack through nature to access some of the most wild waterfalls in the state. Waterfalls are, without a doubt, my favorite subject to photograph. And the more wild the better.
