Raising funds for cancer and running? Sign me up! The MSU Relay Turkey Trot 5K, hosted at Michigan State University, was a last minute addition to my fall race roster. It was an easy race for a great cause.
I was very familiar with the course. It was similar to the Woofer Walk 5K I ran this past May but I also frequently train here when I’m looking for pavement runs. Most of the course followed along the river and was flat with a few small hills. Participants will race by the Botanic Gardens, Beaumont Tower, and Sparty.
Registration cost included a t-shirt. Participants could also purchase Luminaria bags to remember those who have fought cancer or those who are still fighting.
Medals were given to the top runner in each age group. Male/Female, 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-70, and 80+.
Proceeds from the race benefited the American Cancer Society and MSU Relay.
